The "Impressionism Routes" cover the entire Impressionist period in Europe, which spans a little less than a century, from the mid-19th to the early 20th century. This cultural itinerary is at the disciplinary crossroads of art history, ecology, the environment, sustainable tourism and intangible heritage at a time of major global issues related to climate change. This itinerary participates in the dialogue with civil society implemented by the Executive Bureau of the European Landscape Convention of the Council of Europe. The "Routes of the Impressionisms" bring together fourteen European countries as members of the network which works actively to produce excellent cultural content (exhibitions, scientific publications) and to disseminate it in Europe and beyond (Russia, United States). The association "Eau et Lumière" manages and implements all the actions developed by the "Impressionism Routes" in close collaboration with its network of members (cities, tourist offices, museums, etc.) and the European federation EuroArt. The association works towards the recognition of the heritage and tourist value of the places represented by the landscape painters of the 19th and 20th centuries thanks to a network of partners, both public and private, involved in the processes of remembrance and enhancement of the impressionist traces in France and in Europe

Impressionisms Routes © organised in Fontainebleau in May-June 2022, the Summer Academy of all the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. This event was awarded the label: "French Presidency of the Council of the European Union".
